ABOUT LHO

The Loveladies Harbor Organization (LHO)

  • LHO is a NJ Community Association that was formed in 1956.

  • Its focus is the enjoyment of Loveladies Harbor by the members of LHO.

  • It is governed by a Board comprised of five officers and up to nine trustees.

  • It owns and maintains two parking lots for easy ocean access (55A and 99 Long Beach Blvd). Members and Guest Members displaying parking passes may park in the lots during the summer season.

  • It owns Matthews Point, a bayside park / playground at 76 Bayview. Members often gather at Matthews to watch beautiful sunsets. Our children and grandchildren enjoy the swings and other playground equipment.

  • It holds an annual picnic at Matthews Point and an annual meeting of members at the Long Beach Island Foundation.

  • It tests our lagoons to ensure that we swim, fish and boat in clean, safe water.

  • It is on the web, Instagram and Facebook.

LAGOONS/BOATING SAFETY

Keeping Our Lagoons Clean
Our lagoons are the heart of our community, and it is critically important that we keep them clean and maintain the quality of the water. Nothing should be disposed of in the lagoons. Please share this message with your landscapers and other contractors.

Safety on the Water
Your neighbors boat, sail, kayak and swim in the lagoons and the bay bordering perimeter properties. When boating, please go slowly. This includes those using jet skis. No wake until you enter the main channel leading to the intercoastal.

Our Harbormaster
Please report any concerns to LHOhello@gmail.com and our Harbormaster will contact you.

BEACH PARKING

Access to two Exclusive Beachfront Parking Lots

  • Our two ocean parking lots are a key benefit to members.

  • Please display your current parking pass when entering and when parked in the lots.

  • At the south lot, please fill the perimeter spaces first. Larger vehicles should always be parked on the perimeter not in a center aisle.

RESERVE FUND and MATHEWS POINT FUND

We encourage you to donate to the reserve funds used only for emergencies in the Harbor and major expenses at Matthews Point. Your generous donations will help ensure that we will be able to recover from severe storm damage. Thanks to all who have donated to these funds!

We are all too familiar with the benefits and challenges of living at the shore.

GETTING SOCIAL

We hope you will participate in these events to meet your neighbors, make new friends and enjoy the summer even more.

LHO hosts a picnic and an annual meeting each year. We encourage all members to attend!

Follow us on our new  INSTAGRAM  and our members only FACEBOOK page to get updated LHO information and everything LBI. It will also be a great resource for info on trusted local businesses.

FAQ

  • LHO is a MEMBERSHIP organization that is 100% funded by membership dues and generous donations to the Harbor Reserve and Mathews Point Fund by our neighbors.

  • The LHO was created more than 70 years ago to allow us to function as a large group rather than individual homeowners, giving us the ability to use membership dollars to enrich our properties and provide beach, lagoon and recreational ownership. The reserves are what we have depended on to ensure post storm clean-ups & enhancements to the three properties we own.

  • ‍LHO is governed by a volunteer Board made up of five officers and up to nine trustees. Many others help by participating on committees. Please help! If interested, send a message to LHOhello@gmail.com.
